Every day, with great dedication, experts from different areas of the company work together in networked, interdisciplinary teams to constantly improve our products and services. Software developers, marketing managers or technicians – there is one thing they all share: a delight in their work.

Software development and more

Over the last 15 years, we have worked to become a state-of-the-art IT company. Our Development division focuses on user-friendly applications for the various channels via which customers place orders (web, desktop and mobile devices). In addition, our large data centres ensure safe processing of our customers’ personal data. We develop the processes via which we activate the printing machines in our production facilities ourselves. Above and beyond this, we engage in research to find new product ideas, innovative functions in our applications and more efficient production processes. Software developers, UX designers, testers, administrators, AI experts and many others work together on these tasks using agile methods.

Business IT

Our IT division designs innovative and sustainable IT solutions for optimum support of our business processes. Effective data management creates the data basis for Business Intelligence and Customer Insight Analysis. Here, our IT specialists work in agile, interdisciplinary teams with a high degree of personal responsibility and great technical expertise. Our focus lies on ensuring that projects are implemented professionally, punctually, within budget and in high quality. Our IT solutions are created both in standard applications and in-house developments.

Marketing

We generate interest in the CEWE brand and PHOTOBOOK by developing innovative campaigns via all online and offline channels and enabling our customers to capture their special moments with our products and services. All colleagues work hand in hand to promote the CEWE brand image. This includes activities for the development of new products in Product Management, strengthening and further development of the brand in Brand Management, the support of thousands of points of sale and participation in numerous trade fairs in Trade Marketing, TV presence in Media, performance campaigns via SEA, SEO and Social Media in Online Marketing, newsletter and print mailing in CRM & Dialogue Marketing, appealing storytelling in Content Marketing, the creation of our image material in our own photo studio as well as press work, sponsoring and sustainability projects in the field of PR.

Production

Every day, with great passion and commitment, hundreds of CEWE employees produce thousands of copies of our PHOTOBOOK. Our production teams use cutting-edge technologies and machines and systems which are developed in-house. The processes are monitored by the production controlling department using key figures, while a team of experts controls the digital workflow. To guarantee the safety of our employees and to ensure that they are aware of possible risks, our occupational safety team informs and trains them regularly. To promote progress and innovation, we have implemented both an Operational Excellence team and an employee suggestion system.

Sales

CEWE successfully markets its brand products and many other photo articles and services via trade partners. Our customers include many well-known partners from both bricks and mortar and online trade, acquired and then supported comprehensively by our Sales division. As a rule, we aim to establish long-term partnerships. It is particularly important here to ensure that we continuously adapt our photo business with our customers in order to keep pace with rapidly changing ordering and marketing technologies. For this reason, our Sales personnel need to know our business partners very well and establish close relationships with them.

Finance

The wide range of functions and tasks performed by the Finance division are essential for any company. The financial accounting staff, for example, record the flow of money, goods and services. Based on this data, accounting and consolidation in the Group’s financial statement create the essential content for external reporting. Our cash management team controls the money flows and ensures that we are always in a position to meet our financial obligations and that our strategies rest on a sound financial basis. Our fiscal department ensures that our obligations with regard to taxes and duties of all kinds are met. Finally, we have the risk management, in-house auditing and legal departments as general cross-divisional functions within our Finance division.

Personnel

Our Personnel team supports potential employees from first contact to the signing of an employment contract. In addition to possessing comprehensive knowledge of contract, labour and tax law, they are also responsible for payroll accounting, topics relating to the work-life balance, participation in the employee stock option programme and the promotion of occupational health. In addition, we offer further training options for young talents, specialists and managers to support them in their professional and private development.

Warehouse/Material Management

Our warehouse logistics team supplies our production site and a large part of the on-site finishing department by picking and preparing the CEWE Photostations installed in bricks and mortar stores. Handling large volumes of paper and packaging is as much a part of the repertoire as the safe operation of high rack stackers and the storage and retrieval of goods at great height using reach trucks. And, of course, all these activities are supported by software. To ensure our delivery capability, CEWE has different warehousing systems on two sites, with a capacity of approx. 6,000 pallets.

Customer Service

Up to 7 days a week, from morning to late in the evening, our customer service teams offer high-quality services for thousands of trade partners and end consumers in the retail sector as well as for major online providers. They provide advice on all our products and ordering software and are the first point of contact for general questions and specifically for delivery processes and complaints.

Service Technology

Our service technicians perform preventive maintenance and servicing work on our state-of-the-art machines, ensuring safe and stable production processes. In addition to their everyday tasks, there are plenty of new challenges for our trained mechatronics and electronics engineers. From installing a new machine to specialist training courses in order to learn how to operate one – there is no shortage of exciting topics for our service technicians.

Controlling

Our Controlling division identifies potential for value enhancement and is a driving force in the initiation of optimisation projects and recommendations to the Executive Board. The team knows the plotted course and navigates with transparency. They steer the company through opportunities and dangers. Their assistance during takeovers allows us to enter new growth fields in the market.

Central Purchasing

Our Central Purchasing division ensures that all specialist departments have the right supplier partners, receive ideal services and products and the best conditions to fulfil their requirements. In addition to price and quality, their focus lies on the topics sustainability, digitalisation and innovation capacity.
